The visual arts organisation Jakarte celebrates 75 years of artistic engagement in Jakobstad! In connection with the anniversary, the association invites you to an annual exhibition in the city centre, where contemporary works by local artists take centre stage.

The exhibition includes works by almost 40 artists.

The opening ceremony will be held on 18 July at 6 pm with a speech by Ingela Bodbacka-Rak and President Alexandra Furubacka.

Mon/Tue/Thu/Fri 12-18, Wed 12-20, Sat/Sun 11-15 with the exception of days when we have a programme when times may vary.

The summer exhibition at Yli-Laurosela House Museum is a joint exhibition by three artists in 2025.

The X3 exhibition brings together three young and diverse artists who share one commonality: they all have their roots at the Lakeus of South Ostrobothnia.

The artists chose to create the exhibition without limiting the themes, giving freedom to their own artistic outcome and handwriting. Reflecting the spirit of the exhibition, Yli-Laurosela's upstairs exhibition space was also divided into three individual rooms - while each room has their own unique, different character and atmosphere, just like our X3 artists.

Vernissage of the X3 will be held on Saturday 14th of June, 17 - 20 o’clock.

The annual exhibition of the Fine Arts Association Jakarte 2023 opens on Fri 17.11 in the new Tempus exhibition hall. In Tempus' first contemporary art exhibition, you will see and experience art from over forty members of the association.

The title MYCELIUM reflects the more than 70-year-old association's activities, which operate like a trinket, multilevel and crossing the boundaries of art genres, sprouting both familiar and completely new forms. The exhibition features nearly 70 works of art by Jakarta members, using a variety of techniques, side by side and in dialogue with each other and with the new exhibition space.

BOOKED 2022 is an exhibition devoted to artists’ books, conceptual literature and text-based artworks that is being organized by MUU, Finland’s interdisciplinary art association. The exhibition will be presented in MUU Helsinki Contemporary Art Centre in the Cable Factory, 26 November — 18 December 2022.
